Early Aviation Photography on view in the Library
Currently on display in the Library, a small group of photographs features early flight tests of the Curtiss JN-4 “Jenny” aircraft, one of the most widely used training planes in the United States during and after World War I. The photographs were taken in 1918 at Scott Field in Belleville, Illinois, and donated to the Club by Major General Earl S. Hoag (1895–1968).

In collaboration with the Military Women’s Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery, this exhibition features portraits of seven officers who became pioneers in their fields. These women not only served their country but were role models for others, paving the way for future generations.

To honor the 75th anniversary of D-Day, The Library Trust has mounted a small exhibition of related art, photographs, and artifacts from the Club’s collection, including our newest acquisition: a silk escape map of German-occupied France.

The Army and Navy Club Library Trust and Special Events Committees have partnered with The World War I Centennial Commission to present a first look at the National World War I Memorial, which will soon break ground near the National Mall.
The original model for the proposed sculpture outside the new barracks at West Point, on view in the Club's entrance lobby.
