Library Reading Room reception and Pershing Room luncheon to accept the gift of a rare 18th Century Map—Royal British Navy 1711 hand-drawn and colored map by Samuel Thornton, from the original 1703 hand-colored copper plate engraving by his father, chart maker John Thornton, depicting the Atlantic Ocean and coasts of Africa and Brazil as known in 1703. Included comments by Major General Dan Wright, ANC President and Major General John Altenburg, Chair, Library Trust Fund.
