The Army and Navy Club Library Trust is proud to present Honoring Women in the Armed Forces, in collaboration with the Military Women’s Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. The exhibition features portraits of seven officers—covering all branches of service—who achieved high-ranking leadership positions and became pioneers in their fields. These women not only served their country but were role models for others, paving the way for future generations.
The portraits include Lt. Holly Harrison, US Coast Guard, Capt. Rosemary Conaster Mariner, US Navy, Sgt. Julia Bringloe (now CW2), Lt. Gen. Nina M. Armagno, US Space Force, Col. Mary Louise Milligan Rasmuson, and Brig. Gen. Wilma Vaught, USAF.
Brigadier General Vaught is the founding president of the Women In Military Service For America Memorial Foundation and the driving force behind the Memorial’s construction. In July 2022, General Vaught was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Biden for her extraordinary work on behalf of the nation’s military and military women, as well as for her role in establishing the Military Women’s Memorial, the only major national memorial dedicated to telling the story of women’s service to the nation.
